While all eyes have been on brand new male companion Samuel Anderson (The History Boys) who’ll be playing Coal Hill School teacher Danny Pink – there were a couple of new names added to the illustrious list of guest stars to grace Doctor Who.
As the next block of filming commenced it was confirmed that episode 4 of the new series will co-star Robert Goodman – a one-time London tour guide and magician in the world famous Hamley’s toy store in London’s Regent Street – who’s appeared in the like of Game of Thrones, Ripper Street and, more importantly, various credited roles including Hyperion III Officer, Loader and Crew Member in the Sixth Doctor saga Trial of a Time Lord.
He has also appeared in other Doctor Who serials such as Full Circle, Arc of Infinity and Nightmare of Eden in various uncredited roles, including wearing the Mandrel monster suit.
Two more names confirmed to co-star in episode 5 are Jonathan Bailey – perhaps most famous for his role as Olly Stevens from Broadchurch, who’s also appeared in Five Children and It, Groove High and, more importantly, The Bill – and Pippa Bennett-Warner – who can currently be seen somewhere in The Smoke, and also appeared in this week’s Death in Paradise and, has history in Holby City.
So how are the nerves holding out as time creeps onwards towards Peter Capaldi’s maiden episode? Are we pleased with the new guest stars and a brand new male companion? And who would you like to see staring alongside the Twelfth Doctor?
